Wrongtools has introduced Persuasive Bass, a new experimental sample library available as a free download. This unique instrument explores how the dynamic feel of a plucked acoustic bass string can be simulated using tape manipulation.
Mechanically Expressive Tape Modeling
The concept behind Persuasive Bass lies in altering tape speed to mimic the natural velocity response of acoustic strings. By slowing down and speeding up tape recordings, Wrongtools created expressive pitch fluctuations that dynamically react to how hard or soft a note is played. The result is a bass sound with organic nuance and movement.
Built for Kontakt
Persuasive Bass is designed for use within Native Instruments Kontakt (full version required). The interface is kept simple, letting the underlying tape-based character shine. It’s especially suited for users looking to inject analog-style depth and unpredictability into their low-end elements.
Whether you’re scoring a film or producing ambient, experimental, or acoustic-driven music, this instrument adds subtle motion and mechanical realism to your sound palette.
Free Download
Persuasive Bass is available for free from the Wrongtools website. Please note that it requires the full version of Kontakt to use.
