Tilr has released TIME-12, a free modulation and delay FX plugin inspired by creative tools like GrossBeat and ShaperBox. TIME-12 offers powerful time-based audio effects such as tape stop, stutter, glitch, reverse, pitch shift, and more.
Built from the Ground Up
TIME-12 is a complete rewrite of Tilr’s earlier plugin TIME-1, now rebuilt from scratch using the JUCE framework. This update brings significant performance improvements, broader platform compatibility, and a host of new creative features.
What’s New in TIME-12
- Cross-platform support for Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Preset system for quick recall of custom setups
- Audio trigger using transient detection
- Pattern sync aligned to beat position
- Enhanced multi-point editing tools (drag, scale, skew)
- Improved paint mode with custom user patterns
- More flexible pattern rotation
- Undo/redo functionality
- Built-in sequencer for pattern creation and randomization
Creative Sound Design Tools
TIME-12 is built for hands-on creativity, offering a 12-pattern triggering system controlled by MIDI notes. Users can draw modulation shapes in the multi-segment editor, apply unique point types (curve, stairs, S-curve), and sync modulation to tempo or use free-running LFO rates in Hz.
The plugin also supports two triggering modes:
- MIDI Trigger Mode
- Audio Trigger Mode (via transients)
These features allow producers to craft rhythmic gating, dynamic glitching, or smooth pitch manipulation effects with precision and control.
Features
- Multi-segment envelope editor
- 12 MIDI-triggered patterns
- Advanced paint mode for visual editing
- Tempo-sync or Hz-based modulation
- Pattern sequencer and randomizer
- Hold, curve, stairs, S-curve and other point shapes
- Undo/redo support
