Black Chai Audio Releases Free Moody Pianophone for Decent Sampler

Black Chai Audio has introduced the Moody Pianophone, a unique hybrid of a toy piano and toy xylophone, now available for free. The instrument blends nostalgic lo-fi character with inspiring atmospheric textures, making it a versatile tool for musicians and producers.

Lofi Sound with Character

The Moody Pianophone was sampled using an old smartphone in an untreated bedroom, embracing an authentic lofi aesthetic. The raw recordings were then processed with care to enhance their musicality while retaining their organic imperfections.

Unique Sound Layers

• Plucked Sounds: Some keys had a muted, percussive quality, inspiring the addition of dry plucked tones that can be played alongside the main keys or on their own.
• Ambient Pads: Two crafted pads are included, which can be layered beneath the keys or used independently for a more atmospheric effect.
• Instant Inspiration: The instrument has 14 presets, offering various tonal combinations to spark creativity.
