Developer SuperRiley64 has released LuckyPlucker, a free Karplus-Strong string synthesizer plugin created using JUCE, available now in VST3 format.
Simple and Fun String Synthesis
LuckyPlucker offers a straightforward and intuitive interface, letting you shape plucked string sounds with just a few controls. Inspired by the Karplus-Strong synthesis method, it produces bright, percussive tones ideal for experimental and electronic music.
The plugin interface features:
- Decay – Adjusts the decay time of the plucked string sound.
- Tone – Controls the brightness or darkness of the output.
- Damp – Shapes how quickly the sound’s energy fades after the initial pluck.
- Gate Button – Toggles a gate effect for more percussive or sustained results.
- Stereo Button – Enables or disables stereo widening for a fuller spatial sound.
With its bright yellow UI and simple design, LuckyPlucker makes it easy to create lively plucked textures and playful string-like timbres without getting bogged down in complexity.
LuckyPlucker is available for free in VST3 format for Windows users.
