BlauKraut Engineering has released Version 3.3.0 of Charlatan, their acclaimed freeware virtual analog synthesizer. Charlatan is designed for fast, intuitive sound design without compromising quality, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned producers alike.

Charlatan’s user-friendly interface provides a frictionless workflow, while under the hood lies a powerful synth engine capable of delivering rich analog tones. With dual oscillators per voice, drawable waveforms, and a flexible filter section, Charlatan offers expressive sonic control in a lightweight package.

The synth includes features like cross-modulation (PM, FM, Ring Mod), windowed hard sync, and up to 7 unison voices per oscillator. Its drag-and-drop modulation routing and modulation transformers (XFORM) let you shape complex textures with ease.
