Pocket Strings was developed with a clear mission: to make world-class string sounds available to all, regardless of background, gear, or budget. The CHC team recorded some of the UK’s top classical musicians and traveled to Pisa, Italy, to acquire rare analog string synths, including the Yamaha CS-80 and ARP Solina Ensemble, all in pursuit of crafting an inspiring and accessible tool.

Intended as a portable creative tool, Pocket Strings allows producers and composers to write orchestral music on the go. Whether in a studio or collaborating remotely, users can access richly expressive string textures with no setup complexity or additional purchases. It’s designed to handle everything from rough demos to finished productions.
The instrument blends a classical string section (with three articulations) and a separate controllable double bass layer with vintage synth textures. These layers can be shaped further using the built-in Glass EQ, algorithmic and granular reverbs, and intuitive modulation tools.
