Morphoice Releases UNSTABLE Free CS-80 Emulator Synth

UNSTABLE Free CS-80 Emulator Synth

Morphoice has introduced UNSTABLE, a synthesizer inspired by the legendary Yamaha CS-80. While not intended as a direct CS-80 emulator, UNSTABLE closely replicates key elements of the original hardware, offering a modern take on its iconic sound.

Analog Oscillators and Sound Design

UNSTABLE features two synthesis layers, each equipped with noise, sawtooth, and pulse wave oscillators. Users can freely mix these waveforms, adjust pulse width, and apply pulse width modulation. This flexible design provides a broad range of sonic possibilities.

Advanced Filtering and Modulation

The synth includes a high-pass filter modeled after the CS-80 and a Moog-style ladder low-pass filter capable of self-oscillation. Additionally, a meticulously designed ring modulator captures the signature character of the CS-80’s modulation, complete with an analog-style attack and decay envelope.

Features

  • Dual-layer synthesis with adjustable oscillators
  • High-pass filter modeled after the CS-80 and a Moog-style low-pass filter
  • Realistic ring modulator with analog-style envelope
  • On-screen ribbon controller for expressive pitch bends
  • 16-step arpeggiator with variable modulation values
  • Drive circuit for analog warmth and harmonic distortion
  • Built-in effects, including DarkStar Reverb, Delay, and WingMen Chorus
