Quietformat has released Transient Control, a free minimalist transient shaper plugin available now as a free download for Windows and macOS. With a single main knob at its core, this tool lets you reshape the attack and sustain of your audio in seconds.
Simple Control, Surprisingly Deep
Transient Control is built for speed. You turn the main knob left to boost punch and trim tails, or right to smooth attacks and stretch out the sustain. Sensitivity and Smooth controls let you fine-tune the plugin’s response, making it easy to adapt to different types of audio.
There’s also a Drive control for adding subtle saturation, great for giving a sound more presence in the mix without extra processing. One interesting trick: set the main knob to -100 and max out Sensitivity and Smooth to get a soft-yet-tight effect where the transients feel velvety, but the sound still holds its shape.
