Chromatic Instruments has released the Pistachiotone MR-65, a detailed emulation of a classic mini-keyboard from 1983, now available as a free download. Designed for Kontakt 6.8.0 or later, this instrument faithfully recreates the original sounds and playing modes of the vintage hardware.
Authentic Sound and Features
This Kontakt library includes all 20 original tone presets, each with four modulation variations, as well as all original accompaniment presets featuring four bass and four chord options. A separate bright version of each preset has also been sampled without the filter circuit engaged, offering even more tonal flexibility.
The instrument accurately replicates the Fingered and Pistachio Chord auto-chord modes, allowing users to generate major, minor, dominant 7th, or minor 7th chords, depending on the number of keys pressed.
Extensive Control and Effects
Pistachiotone MR-65 includes:
- Seven original rhythm one-shots with separate tuning, volume, and character controls
- Filter and pitch modulation sections, including bipolar envelopes, multi-shaped LFOs, and formant controls
- A suite of built-in effects, including bit crusher, saturator, stereo chorus, tape delay, and digital reverb
- Over 100 presets, ranging from pads and leads to retro synth sounds, chiptune effects, and vintage factory presets
- A randomization function for generating new sounds instantly
